TheDadApp is a private, personal diary for you and your family. It must never be used to upload, store, or share sexual, exploitative, or inappropriate images or content involving children, under any circumstances.
This applies to every photo feature in the app — journey photos, milestone photos, and scan photos. Any account found to contain such content will be immediately and permanently suspended, and reported to the relevant authorities (including the Internet Watch Foundation and law enforcement) without prior warning.
Photos you upload are private to your account by default. They are not shared publicly, searchable, or visible to other users unless you explicitly choose to share them (for example, via the shared calendar or a future family-sharing feature).
TheDadApp is built by one person — a dad, not a company with a data team. We take your privacy seriously precisely because of that.
We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not share your personal information with third parties, except where legally required or explicitly stated below.
Your diary entries, photos, "Hard Moments" reflections, and personal details are private to your account. Only you can see them, unless you choose to use a sharing feature (like the calendar subscription link).
We store the information you give us in order to run the app — your name, partner's name, baby's name, due date or birthday, diary notes, photos, appointments, and checklist items. This is stored securely using Supabase, a reputable database provider, with access controls ensuring only you can access your own data.
If you generate a shared calendar link, anyone with that link can see your confirmed appointment titles and times. Don't share this link publicly.
If you submit feedback through the app, it's sent directly to the app's founder via email so it can be read and acted on. It is not stored anywhere else or used for any other purpose.
You have the right to have your account and all associated data permanently deleted at any time, for any reason.
You can do this yourself from the Me tab, under Account Settings. This will permanently delete your profile, notes, photos, milestones, appointments, and all other data associated with your account. This action cannot be undone.
If you're unable to use the in-app option for any reason, email us at the address below and we'll delete your account and data within 30 days.
TheDadApp is free to use. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, please contact us immediately.
Please don't use the app for anything illegal, to harass or harm others, or to upload content that isn't yours to share.
Content in TheDadApp — including weekly pregnancy and newborn information, milestone guidance, and general tips — is provided for general information and support only. It is not medical advice and should never replace guidance from a midwife, doctor, or other qualified healthcare professional.
If you have any concerns about your pregnancy, your baby, or your partner's health, please contact your midwife, GP, or emergency services as appropriate.
The "Hard Moments" feature is a private space to reflect on how you're feeling. It is not a substitute for professional mental health support, and any responses or prompts within it are not from a mental health professional.
If you're struggling, please reach out to one of the organisations listed within the app, or speak to your GP. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 999 or go to A&E.
TheDadApp is provided "as is," built and maintained by an individual in their personal time. While we do our best to keep the app working reliably and your data safe, we can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.
We are not liable for any loss of data, though we take reasonable steps to prevent it (including secure, access-controlled storage).
We may update these terms from time to time as the app grows. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use TheDadApp after a change means you accept the updated terms.
